Body-for-LIFE 2003 Grand Champions

Trent Larson - Aged 37

When Trent was younger he maintained his health and fitness levels through various sports and exercise, but over time the demands of being a husband, father and primary income earner put limitations on his time and the realities of business travel, restaurants and hotels put fat on his waistline! "I was determined to get back to my lean, athletic self, so I could give more energy to my family," comments Trent.

Trents greatest obstacle was time, as he didn't want The Challenge to have a negative impact on his family and career, therefore he exercised early morning, before going to work.

"How did I keep going? As the results started to show it was the mirror on the wall that encouraged me to reach further and try harder; it was self perpetuating. Finally when my son compared me to his heroes, Spiderman and Actionman I knew I was onto something good!"

Finally Trent adds "The Challenge really has been life changing. My improved health provides me with much more energy and I now apply the Body for Life principles to other aspects of my life (small steps, focussed intensity) to see things through from start to finish."

Debbie Perkes from Banbury Oxfordshire - Aged 30

Debbie accepted the body for life challenge because she was tired of being a spectator in life. Debbie planned her workouts and meals whilst pregnant with her third child, starting the challenge soon after the birth. Debbie says ""I had always envied fit, active people and wanted to be one. I knew the time was right for me to change both inside and out."

Debbie achieved great results both physically and mentally, driven by the desire for change and wanting to keep up with her very active young children, kept her focused on what she wanted to become.

"My life has completely changed physically, mentally and emotionally. Physically I can keep up with my children - a dream come true, mentally there is nothing I cannot conquer and I am so much stronger emotionally. I smile and keep my head held high."
