What were your reasons for deciding to accept the Body-for-LIFE Challenge?
Over the past three years my wife was suffering from a very serious depression. This led to her eventual addiction to prescription medication. Throughout that time I really let my body go. I confronted my wife about her addiction, and confronted myself about the way I looked and felt about myself.

What inspired you to stay on course throughout the 12-week Challenge?
The many photos of before and after challengers and the Body-of-Work Video inspired me. When I was traveling, I would listen to the Body-for-LIFE audio cassette. As time went on, people would make positive remarks about the way I looked. Those remarks were very motivational

What obstacles did you have to overcome – what adversity did you transform into positive energy – in order to complete the 12-week Challenge?
During my Challenge period, my wife was out of state at a drug rehabilitation facility. I was solely responsible for taking care of our two children and the house throughout the 12-week period. The Challenge forced me to be well organized, focused and driven to succeed.

Please describe your physical improvements in terms of how you measured them.
At the end of each week, I would measure my body-fat percentage and weigh myself. Not to mention the fact that I needed to purchase new clothing to accommodate the decreasing waistline. My body-fat percent went from 29% to 10%, this translates into a loss of 45 pounds of fat. My weight dropped from 226 to 202, which translates to an increase of 21 pounds of lean mass.

Which EAS supplements did you use, and how much did they help you? Would you recommend those supplements to others to help them achieve the results you have?
I started out with the Lean and Strong Performance Pack. I am still using all of these products and supplements. After about 4-weeks into the program, I started to use HMB, Simply Protein, and Myoplex® Ready-to-Drink shakes.

How was your life transformed by improving your physical condition – by deciding to accept the Challenge and sticking with it from start to finish?
My eyes have become more clearly focused on the future. Specifically the who, what, when and where I want to be in the next one to five years. Obviously, my relations with my wife have been strained in the past year. We have a lot of work to do on our relationship, but now my mind is more clear and focused to deal with the issues and challenges that we face.
